Shivraj Singh is real ‘Sevak’ of Madhya Pradesh – PM Shri Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Dr Shyamaprasad Mukherjee on his 65th death anniversary on June 23, while dedicating Mohanpura major irrigation project costing worth approximate Rs 4000 crores in Rajgarh district. The Prime Minister said that the Government of India will fulfil the dreams of the countrymen on the lines of Dr Mukherjee’s thoughts. Education, health and safety will be the priority of the Government of India so that the youth get a quality education and can always remain dedicated to serving the society. He said that there should be coordination between Vidya, Vitta and Vikas (Education, Finance and Development), there should be a similarity in the ideologies of the educational institutions and industrial organisations to strengthen a country economically. He said that the first work of the government is public service and improving the standard of living of people higher. He mentioned that now there is no place for people who spread lies, illusions, and despair in the society today. He expressed his gratitude to the countrymen for expressing their faith in the government’s policies and assured that he will not let this belief break at any cost.

The government of India to encourage Micro Irrigation

The Prime Minister said that micro-irrigation system will be promoted in the country to ensure maximum use of every single drop of water of irrigation. At present irrigation, a facility is being provided in 25 lakh hectare area through micro-irrigation system. Out of this, 11 lakh hectare area is of Madhya Pradesh. Referring to the recent discussion with farmers held he said that women farmers of Jhabua district’s tribal region have created a record of advanced farming of tomatoes through drip irrigation system. He informed that the current 35 lakh farmers are availing the benefits of Prime Minister's crop insurance. An integrated network of over 575 Krishi upaj mandis has been created in the country, of which 58 mandis are from Madhya Pradesh. He informed that financial assistance is being provided to people with a bank guarantee in the Mudra bank scheme. 45 lakh farmers of Madhya Pradesh have benefited under this scheme.

Praising the efforts being made for the betterment of poor, labourers, needy and farmers of Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Shri Modi said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has done a remarkable job of bringing the state off the category of a ‘Bimaru’ state. He is playing the role of a real ‘Sevak’ in service of the state.

Congratulating all associated with the Mohanpura major irrigation project, the Prime Minister said that this project is not only of Rajgarh but it is one of those major projects of Madhya Pradesh, which will give direct benefits to 725 villages. Adequate drinking water supply will be ensured in these villages. By completing this project the Chief Minister has actually worked for the betterment of the women and farmers of Madhya Pradesh. This project has paved the way for the prosperity of Malwa region of the state.

Shri Modi mentioned that CM Chouhan’s government has freed the state off from the identity of a backward state. The major irrigation projects in Rajgarh are the proof of the Chief Minister’s thinking and farsightedness.

Mohanpura Major Irrigation Project – An introduction

As soon as Prime Minister Shri Modi dedicated the project, the happiness of the massive gathering present at the spot knew no bounds and the entire atmosphere echoed with sounds of applause. The joy on the people was apparent and it was obvious from their faces that now no village will remain deprived of drinking water and irrigation in Rajgarh. There will be crops all over the district. On this occasion, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of rural group water supply schemes in Pahargarh, Gorakhpur and Bankapur-Kushalpura.

The Mohanpura Irrigation Project worth approximate Rs 4000 crores will benefit 727 villages in Rajgarh district. The citizens of Rajgarh district will be able to avail 8 million cubic metre drinking water and 5 million cubic meters for industrial areas through this dam constructed on the project. The construction work of this project was started in the year 2014. Its water logged capacity is 616.27 million cubic metre. The state government has ensured arrangement to take water directly to the fields of farmers through this project.

PM Shri Modi is the most popular leader of the world: Shivraj Singh Chouhan

In the dedication programme, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in the dedication programme that the Prime Minister has accomplished many significant works to establish peace in the world, besides the overall development of the country. Shri Modi has become the most popular leader of the world because of his personal accomplishments and achievements. Chief Minister Chouhan further mentioned that this is the first historic visit of the PM to Rajgarh. He informed that Shri Modi has brought schemes to change the fate and scenario of the state.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the Mohanpura Major Irrigation Project will change the picture of Rajgarh district. He asserted that the farmers of Madhya Pradesh have left Punjab state behind in the field of agriculture and irrigation. Record production has been registered in Madhya Pradesh for so many years in the field of agriculture. The state government has the scheme to enhance irrigation capacity in the next few years to 80 lakh hectare area. Madhya Pradesh will cooperate to accomplish the mission of the PM Shri Modi to double farmers’ income by 2022.

The Chief Minister urged the people of Rajgarh for their cooperation to make new Madhya Pradesh along with new Rajgarh and to discharge their duties with commitment.

Prime Minister lauded Madhya Pradesh

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi mentioning about the progress in various sectors and people’s prosperity has said that this state has become one of the developing states of the country. It has eliminated its identity of backwardness completely. Rajgarh district has become an upcoming district. Special focus will be laid on education, health and employment besides development in other sectors in this district. PM Modi has said that various development activities will be implemented in aspiration districts of Madhya Pradesh under the Rashtriya Gram Vikas Abhiyan. Every house in every village will have gas connections. Every family will have a bank account. Complete vaccination will be undertaken in every village. Every village will be provided with basic amenities. The Prime Minister further mentioned that India, as dreamt by Dr Shyamaprasad Mukherjee, will be built by the progress of villages only.

At the beginning of the dedication programme, CM Chouhan presented Tulsi Mala to Prime Minister Shri Modi and welcomed him by presenting a turban. PM Modi released irrigation work plan on this occasion. Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel, MPs Shri Rakesh Singh, Shri Rodmal Nagar, Local MLAs, other Public Representatives, Chief Secretary Shri BP Singh and DGP Shri RK Shukla besides citizens and farmers in huge number were presented in the programme.
