Wheat procurement expected to reach 71 lakh MT

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today conducted a detailed review of the procurement status of wheat, gram, mustard and lentils of the state in a high-level meeting at the Mantralaya. He said that the procurement should not be adversely affected due to transport system. Shri Chouhan directed to complete the purchase of gram before May 30. Expressing satisfaction over wheat procurement Shri Chouhan lauded the departmental and field officers for ensuring proper arrangements of wheat procurement without any complaints.

It was told at the meeting that so far 61 lakh metric tonne wheat has been purchased. In the next few days, this purchase is expected to reach 71 lakh MT. More than 3000 procurement centres are operating for wheat procurement. So far 4 lakh 36 thousand 333 metric tonne gram, 31 thousand 310 metric tonne mustard and more than 52 thousand metric tonne lentil has been purchased.
